THE SINLESSNESS
OF CHRIST
What Think Ye of Christ? |
|
Christ is the solution and the only answer to sin in our lives, even in the world today. To each person who has found Him, they have uniquely applied His teachings to their lives for their betterment
Was Christ a Man Like Me?Matthew 26:7-12 "There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat. But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste? For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor. When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me. For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always. For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial." Jesus had a human spirit, with which He communicated with His Heavenly Father and reacted on a Heavenly plane with those around Him: Mark 2:8 "And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?" Luke 23:46 " And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost." He also had a normal soul, just as mankind does. With that soul, He possessed the full range of human emotions: John 12:27 "Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour." Matthew 26:38 "Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me." Jesus feared the terrible death that He would have to suffer on the Cross for mankind. In His humanity, it wouldn't be inappropriate to say that He would have preferred to avoid this appointment. But unlike us, when faced with a terrible situation, He embraced it for the glory of God. Jesus, though man, was also fully God. In His deity and sinlessness He was fully in tune with the Plan of Salvation, and knew what He must do.
The Necessity of the CrossRomans 5:12-19 "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous." You might very well cry, "but that's not fair! I didn't sin in the Garden, so why was I plunged into spiritual death?" No, it wasn't fair, but who ever said life was fair? The black man is born black because his parents were black. To say that "it's not fair" is to court foolishness. Many feel to be less privileged because they were born black rather than white, but the reality of birth is that you are born possessing the genes of your parents. Hence, a black man is born from black parents, a white man from white parents. Fair? No, but realistic. Adam fell into spiritual death, and carried us all (whether black, white, red, yellow, or polka dotted) into sin and death with him. Not fair, but neither was it fair that Christ pay the penalty for us. One so sinless had to suffer the humiliating death of the Cross to pay for our spiritual death. 2 Corinthians 5:21 "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." 1 John 3:5 "And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin." 1 Timothy 2:5-6 "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time." Though that priceless death seems so unfair, it was just, for it paid off the penalty of sin that man brought on himself in the Garden. God paid the price for us, and the only charge He made to us was that we accept what is offered in Christ. If you have not accepted Christ as your Saviour, you are missing out on that payment. It's so simple. The Bible teaches that salvation is as simple as accepting and asking: Romans 10:9 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Accept the fact that you cannot save yourself, accept the fact that you are dead in your sins and need a Saviour, accept the fact that Jesus paid the penalty for your sins. Ask God to save you in the name of Jesus Christ, believing that He raised up from death to bring us to life everlasting. Revelation 3:20 "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." Opportunity's knocking in the person of Jesus Christ. Will you answer?
