Hard Witness of Apologetics IV:Man Is Not An Animal |
| Men are a higher form of animal, a primate in
fact, a cousin to the ape. People who are better than we who are the poor
and middle classes have said it, so it must be true. These people have the
big bucks. They are the movers and the shakers, the ones who clawed their
way to the top so they could tell us our children can't pray in school.
They know more than we know, obviously, for they live in the ivy league
schools. Rich, well educated, ivy league players. Certainly they know best.
These people are the same sort of people who told our forefathers in the age of Romanism that they were too illiterate to own Bibles, that they had to be told by priests what to believe and what not to believe. The rich teach the fantastic faith of evolution, force it on us, on our children. And, like sheep, we follow along and quietly accept this message, that we are no better than animals. Rasputins in ivory castles in a fairy tale land make themselves rich selling textbooks that teach lies. Butchers in white coats destroy the lower and middle class babies, while charging the family or the government for that butchery, getting rich at our expense. Life is devalued, but not for the rich liar that expounds non-Biblical thought. Their children go to private, posh schools. Their children are secured behind citadels, are able to pray in school if they want. What of the poor and middle class child that is forced to public school, forced to hear the religious slop of evolution, forced to watch while teachers force feed them non-Biblical thought? Poor and middle class life is devalued. Shootings happen, not in the posh private schools, but in the public schools. And we still listen, heeding the pied pipers of humanism. When will we learn, America? For too long we who are not rich, we who do not have unlimited resources and thousand book libraries have allowed others to destroy our society. They have devalued human life to the degree that I really don't think it will be long before we're killing older people because they're "non-productive". This madness has got to stop. Let it stop with you! Genesis 1:23-24 "And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so." Genesis 1:27 "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." Genesis 2:4-7 "These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."
The fact is, man is not an animal, but created by God in His image and after His likeness. This in itself should automatically tell you that you are valuable, you are important, and you're a heck of a lot more important than an animal. Do you know who introduced the idea that man is just an animal, and that God is certainly not concerned with our well being? Was it Charles Darwin? Was it the founder of Planned Parenthood? Was it some great politician, Clinton perhaps, who told us this? No, none of the above. Now, they may have mimicked the words of the Father of this lie, but they didn't invent it. The one who invented this lie was none other than Satan. Genesis 3:1 "Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?" Things were just fine in the Garden until Satan came along and hissed out, "But has God REALLY said you can't eat of this tree, too?". The implication was that we just weren't important to God, so we'd better just fend for ourselves. Rather than run him off, Adam watched from a distance while Eve made the biggest mistake of her life. Man has been doing this for too long, watching in the wings, when he should be supporting the woman in making Biblical based decisions. Men have been responsible for the rise of abortion and the denigration of life in this country. Empirical studies have also demonstrated that male coercion and pressure play a sizable role in many women's abortion decisions. A survey from the Medical College of Ohio, for example, examined 150 women who "identified themselves as having poorly assimilated the abortion experience.". Of the 81 women who responded, more than one third felt they had been coerced into having an abortion. Fewer than one third initially considered the abortion themselves. In cases where women initially chose to bear the child, their male partners were opposed to the decision by a margin of eight to one. In all of these cases, the man withdrew his support for his partner thereby eliminating that alternative. Cheapening of life by abortion. Let's put the blame where is soundly needs to be - on Satan and men who have stood back, like Adam, and allowed Eve to fall into this evil. To those who claim that abortion is a "woman's rights" issue, read these statements from the founders of the Women's Rights Movement: Susan B. Anthony, the founder of the Women's Suffrage Movement, called abortion "child murder." (The Revolution 4(1): 4 July 8, 1869). She said "We want prevention, not merely punishment. We must reach the root of the evil ... It is practiced by those whose innermost souls revolt from the dreadful dead." (The Revolution 4(1):4 July 8, 1869) and "All the articles on this subject that I have read have been from men. They denounce women as alone guilty, and never include man in any plans for the remedy." (The Revolution 4(5):4 February 5, 1868) Elizabeth Cady Stanton classed abortion with the killing of newborns as "infanticide." (The Revolution 1(5):1 February 5, 1868) "When we consider that women are treated as property, it is degrading to women that we should treat our children as property to be disposed of as we see fit." (Letter to Julia Ward Howe, October 16, 1871, recorded in Howe's diary at Harvard University Library) "There must be a remedy even for such a crying evil as this. But where shall it be found, at least where begin, if not in the complete enfranchisement and elevation of women?" (The Revolution 1(10):146-7 March 12, 1868) Matilda Gage said "[This] subject lies deeper down in woman's wrongs than any other ... I hesitate not to assert that most of [the responsibility for] this crime lies at the door of the male sex." (The Revolution 1(14):215-6 April 6, 1868) Mattie Brinkerhoff said "When a man steals to satisfy hunger, we may safely conclude that there is something wrong in society - so when a woman destroys the life of her unborn child, it is an evidence that either by education or circumstances she has been greatly wronged." (The Revolution 3(9):138-9 September 2, 1869) Victoria Woodhull, the first woman to attempt to run for President, was a strong opponent of abortion. Woodhull's and Claffin's Weekly proclaimed, "The rights of children as individuals begin while yet they remain in the fetus." (2(6):4 December 24, 1870) "Every woman knows that if she were free, she would never bear an unwished for child, not think of murdering one before its birth." (Wheeling, West Virginia Evening Standard, November 17, 1875) Sarah Norton said "Child murderers practice their profession without let or hindrance, and open infant butcheries unquestioned ... Is there no remedy for all this ante natal child murder? ... Perhaps there will come a time when ... an unmarried mother will not be despised because of her motherhood ... and when the right of the unborn to be born will not be denied or interfered with." (Woodhull's and Claffin's Weekly, November 19, 1870) Emma Goldman said "The custom of procuring abortions has reached such appalling proportions in America as to be beyond belief ... So great is the misery of the working classes that seventeen abortions are committed in every one hundred pregnancies." (Mother Earth, 1911) Alice Paul , the author of the original Equal Rights Amendment (1923) opposed the later trend inking it with abortion. A colleague recalls her expressing the opinion that "abortion is the ultimate exploitation of women." As early as 1792, Mary Wollenstonecraft wrote "A Vindication of the Rights of Women," which Susan B. Anthony admired enough to serialize in the Revolution. After decrying, in scathing 18th century terms, the sexual exploitation of women, she says, "Women becoming, consequently, weaker ... than they ought to be ... have not sufficient strength to discharge the first duty of a mother; and sacrificing to lasciviousness the parental affection ... either destroy the embryo in the womb, or cast it off when born. Nature in every thing demands respect, and those who violate her laws seldom violate them with impunity." Abortion opened the door for the cheapening of human life, but it was introduced by the Father of Lies, Satan. Satan slithered into Charles Darwin, Madeline O'Hare, PETA, the Feminist Movement, and a host of other organizations and hissed "has God REALLY said that we're ALL created in His image"? The funny thing is, you don't see the rich swallowing this filthy lie hook, line, and sinker like the middle and lower class have. The rich know they're important, but we don't. The rich, in their heart of hearts, think they're truly in the image of God. The poor and the middle class, on the other hand, are being told we're monkeys and our young should be aborted. Minority women constitute only about 26% of the female population (age 15-44) in the United States, but they underwent approximately 36% of the abortions. (Morbidity and mortality Weekly Report, U.S. Census Bureau, December 18, 1992, Centers for Disease Control). This incidence of abortion has resulted in a tremendous loss of life. It has been estimated that since 1973 African-American women have had about 10 million abortions. Michael Novak had calculated "Since the number of current living blacks (in the U.S.) is 31 million, the missing 10 million represents an enormous loss for, without abortion, America's black community would now number 41 million persons. It would be 35 percent larger than it is currently. Abortion has swept through the Black community cutting down every fourth member. (Flight of Life's Priorities, Cal Thomas, Washington Times, April 1, 1993, p. G1, G4). Jesus faced a similar situation in His earthly ministry where the well educated, well to do Pharisees held themselves in high esteem while considering all else well below them. Nothing has changed but the geography, dear friend. Rather than in Galilee, the message of "you're really nothing but an animal" is being preached in America by the new Pharisees. The rich and well educated want you to believe you're low, useless, animals. The rich and well educated want you to believe that a puppy dog has much more worth than you, as a person, do. But GOD wants you to know that you're special, created in His image, and after His likeness. Genesis 1:26 "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth." You are special! God didn't make the animals in His image, He only made you in His image. You are special! No animal is more important than you are in God's sight. Animals are just that - animals - but you are in His image. When God referred to the creation of the things of the earth He always said, "Let the earth bring forth". Genesis 1:11 "And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so." Genesis 1:24 "And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so." The earth was the medium through which God created plant and animal life, but man was formed by His own hands. The creation of plants and animals was thorough, we know, but when compared to the creation of man it seems as if they were created almost nonchalantly, without care, almost as if it were an afterthought. God said, "let's see some cattle", and here they popped up, quick as could be. But with creation of man - wait a minute, God backed off on this one. God said "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness". Note the "us" in the creation account. The entire Godhead was involved in creating mankind. This was no nonchalant creation here, but exacting work. This also was not evolutionary creation, as some fool theologians (in fear of evolution) have tried to interpose. Immediate creation of man is here, not creation of man over eons of time. Man was created quickly, but completely, and "after God's image". Animals, on the other hand: Genesis 1:21 "And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good." Animals were created "after their kind", not in the image of God. Sorry, but there's no animal Heaven, PETA. Sorry, but animals, when they die, they're dead. But man - man was after God's image, not an ape's. When God created the animal and plant kingdom He saw that it "was good". But when He created man: Genesis 1:31 "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." No, this wasn't just good, but "very good". Man was the apex of God's creation, the jewel in the crown, the final act that made creation worthy of God.
Now, what is this "image of God" we keep talking about? It is not physical likeness, for the Bible tells us that God is a spirit: John 4:24 "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." Nor would this likeness be the perfection that God is, for He is perfect in Being whereas we are imperfect, fallen, sinful beings: 2 Samuel 22:31 "As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him." No, we're not perfect by any means, though our Father is. We have no perfection in us outside of that we receive by faith in Christ Jesus. How are we then in the image of God? Well, we possess the capability for immortality. Unlike the teachings of fatalism, the Scripture plainly teaches that when we pass from this existence we either pass to an eternal higher plane (Heaven) or an eternal lower plane (hell). We also have the capacity for spirituality - we know we have a Creator, and are, even the basest of us, constantly seeking His presence. We possess morality, a lesser degree of God's holiness, and we instinctively know right from wrong. No man who is a man, who has not twisted his soul, will doubt that thievery, murder, rape, incest, lying are wrong. No man who is a man will condone murder, but feels within the very essence of his being an outrage when one of our kind are taken from us by the twisted soul. No woman can torture her children and not know shame, unless she has completely grounded her conscience in hedonism and evil. Watch the animal kingdom: they chase down their prey, the stronger killing the weaker, the stronger often feeding on the still living and crying flesh of the captured - and this without one iota of remorse. No one who is human can do what nature does, no one who is in the image of God can be as cruel as the lion in its kingdom, or the tiger in its jungle.
Which brings us to our last point: man is a rational being, a reasoning being. This is that which shows us to be in His image, whereas the animals are not. Scientists can point to the fact that a monkey uses a stick to get food out of a log, and can even train horses to count. But these creatures do not do what they do out of reason, but from instinct. The monkey knows that it must eat or die, so grabs a twig to raid the termite nest. A horse or dog will learn tricks to please its master, to please him who is in the image of God. But reason this out? No, no. Scientists can call instinct reason, and I can call fertilizer cake - but calling it such doesn't make it true. You can find animals that seem more intelligent than others as Scientists reckon intelligence, but can show no progression of intelligence into the capacity to reason. 1 Corinthians 11:7-10 "For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels." Paul made it plain that man did not lose the image of God when he fell in the Garden. That image may have been tainted with the sin of the Fall, tainted with disobedience, but man is still "the image and glory of God". When we understand that we are in this image, that each one of us is the "glory of God" we'll stop committing the insanities that humanism has wrought on the human race. Man is body, soul, and spirit. Body, the shell of our earthly being, the thing that we often see and confuse with the whole man. Soul, that which makes us who we are, that rational part of us that makes us higher than the animals. And spirit - all men, all women possess a human spirit, a means of communicating with God, but the Fall of Adam caused this human spirit to die - to become ineffective. Romans 5:19-21 "For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord." All are under spiritual death from the moment of conception, from the moment that life begins in the womb. This death caused our Lord, walking in the Garden, to cry out "Adam, where are you?". This death is a wall that separates us from our Creator, from our God. But not without hope. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved." One came into this world to show us the way back to a full relationship with our Creator. Jesus came, and died, and rose again to give us spiritual life. When you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior you are pulled out of the spiritual ineffectiveness, out of the spiritual death that you are in, and are made able to walk in newness of life. All men and women are in the image of God, created beings designed for eternal life with the Creator. Yet only some will come, only some will accept God's solution - salvation by faith in Jesus Christ. Stop abusing yourself like you were animals. Refuse to accept humanism's claims that you are beasts. You are in His image. You have a destiny, a higher existence waiting for you. Accept Jesus Christ and you will be saved. |
