God Was Not Invented From Ignorance

It is a common attack of science against God that the "early peoples created God to explain the things they were technologically unequipped to understand". But if you'll examine history you will see that, though we have grown technologically, we have not grown in intelligence.

Matthew 24:27  "For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be."

Man understood that the sun "rose" in the east and set in the west, and spoke of this certainty in exactly the same terms that we use today. Man understood scientific methods of forecasting:

Luke 12:54-56 "And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is. And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass. Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?

And understood many of the scientific principles of the heavens:

Psalms 19:1-4  "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,"

Science has only discovered in the last few years that the stars emit radio waves that produce a discernable noise. This concept of the heavens declaring God's glory was understood by the ancients.

Psalms 19:4-6 "Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof."

The ancients also understood that the sun covered the earth with it's rays, and was a power in the heavens. The power and majesty of the sun was well described by David in our Psalms passage.
