Sovereignty of God

God is sovereign, and controls governments and laws according to His plan.

God directly controls the actions of mankind:

Exodus 11:6-7 "And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more. But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel. "

Philippians 2:13 "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. "

Exodus 12:35-36 " And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians."

No one can slow or hinder the Plan of God:

Psalms 2:2-4 "The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision."

God controls the animal kingdom:

Mark 14:30 "And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this day, even in this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. "

There is no such thing as luck. God controls all actions, even luck, according to the good pleasure of His will:

Proverbs 16:33 "The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD."

1 Kings 22:28 "And Micaiah said, If thou return at all in peace, the LORD hath not spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, O people, every one of you. "

God controls nature, just as He controls man:

Job 36:32-33 "With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt. The noise thereof sheweth concerning it, the cattle also concerning the vapour. "

The time of our deaths is appointed by God:

Job 14:5-6 "Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass; Turn from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as an hireling, his day."

Hebrews 9:27 "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: "

God exercises control over the human heart, overriding human free will when it is to our own good:

Acts 16:14 "And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul."

John 6:37, 44 "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day."

Romans 9:16-18 "So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth. "
